What is Stretch Therapy?

Stretch therapy is a floor based assisted stretching program designed to improve mobility, flexibility, and performance.

Why Stretch Therapy?

Stretch therapy has many health benefits. Whether you have a desk job, or you are an athlete, or anywhere in between, assisted stretching is a must for your body.  Stretch therapy has been shown to improve sports performance, increase range of motion & flexibility, reduce muscle & joint pain, prevent injuries, improve posture, and increase relaxation and decrease stress.

 

Routine stretching for athletes returns muscles to their  relaxed state, restores your range of motion and helps you move quicker on your next workout!

What to expect in a session?

If you haven’t had a Performance Stretch therapy session before – I’m sure you will love it! People often find the session very relaxing. Sara will meet with you for your one-on-one session and discuss your current flexibility and any injuries that you may have. Your first  Stretching session will be a full body Stretch of all the major muscle groups focusing on tighter muscle groups. During this session, specific areas of tension will be identified and a treatment plan will be established specifically for you.

 

Then, Sara  provides you with assisted stretching, which gives you the deepest, most effective stretch you will ever receive. So regardless if you have tight shoulders, tight hamstrings, neck tension, etc, and will tailor a  Stretch session to target those areas. As a performance stretch therapist she will assist  you in passively stretching within your comfort level to effectively lengthen muscles.

Your Performance Stretch therapist will communicate with you throughout the session. Your body is passively being moved through a sequence of a specific group of PSS Stretches.

How long is each

stretch session?

This is the added bonus, each Pro Stretch treatment session can be 30-90 minutes. Even the busiest clients can fit this into their workdays.

If I am seeing a massage therapist or physio can I get  Stretched?

Definitely! Clients have reported that  Stretch therapy really helps with their other therapy. Let your Performance Stretch therapist know what therapies you are receiving and for what conditions.

What do I wear?

Your stretch session involves movement, so we recommend wearing comfortable fitting clothing such as gym shorts, t-shirts, yoga pants, etc...

Do I need to rest after

a  stretch session?

No, just enjoy how amazing

your body feels.

How many  Stretch  therapy sessions do I need?

This is a preventative program so it really depends on your lifestyle and goals. We have clients coming as often as 4 days a week to once a month. This is unlike anything you have done and after feeling the difference in your body, you will not be able to stay away.
